FIRE EMERGENCY PROCEDURE INSTRUCTIONS
(Excerpt from the Fire Safety Instructions)
1. MEANS AND METHODS OF ANNOUNCING A DANGER ALARM:
Basic – The Fire Alarm System, automatically triggered by a level II alarm, activates optical and acoustic signaling throughout the entire facility.
2. PROCEDURES IN CASE OF FIRE OUTBREAK.
2.1 Procedures for employees until the arrival of rescue and firefighting units: Personnel alerted by a level II fire alarm begin rescue and firefighting actions, i.e., dividing functions among themselves – the action is directed by the Hotel Manager or a person appointed by the Manager.
Evacuation of employees or visitors should be conducted, paying particular attention to:
- Evacuate employees or children present on the Hotel premises, paying particular attention to:
- Ensure the accessibility of evacuation routes by opening evacuation doors and windows if they exist,
- Announce the alarm and reach all endangered persons,
- Direct the flow of people along the shortest and safest route to the building exit,
- Prevent panic (isolate and evacuate overly excited or nervous individuals separately),
- Use loudspeakers as much as possible to calm and reduce nervous tension among evacuated persons,
- Provide assistance to disabled persons,
- After evacuating everyone, recheck rooms and less-frequented areas to ensure no one remains inside the building,
- Identify the source of the fire and proceed to extinguish it using portable firefighting equipment.
2.2 Procedures for employees upon arrival of the fire brigade:
Upon the arrival of the fire brigade unit, establish close cooperation with its commander, particularly:
- Inform about the situation and the course of the action so far, including evacuation and existing hazards,
- Provide and indicate the main fire power switch and the nearest water supply point for firefighting purposes,
- Indicate the most endangered areas for people or those possibly causing rapid fire spread,
- Maintain constant contact with the commander's action to provide all necessary assistance, administer first aid to the injured, comply with the fire commander's orders, and take over the burnt area supervision after firefighting units finish their operations.
2.3 Procedures for persons using the facility:
- If smoke or other signs indicating fire emergence are noticed, immediately notify the facility manager,
- Evacuate via the shortest route according to marked evacuation directions.
